Frequently Asked Questions:
1. What if my child is going to a summer camp?
Ideally, the Spanish child will attend the camp too, covering the expense. If not, arrangements must be made for supervision.
2. What if we are going on vacation for part of the time?
Ideally we want the Spanish child to come along, extra expenses covered.
If accommodation cannot be provided, we will try to find a substitute family.
3. Are the children insured?
Yes.
4. Do I have to prepare special food?
No, we believe the guests should try to adapt to American food.
5. Do I have to provide a student with his/her own room?
No.
6. Will I have to pick them up or drop them off at the airport?
No. A local pick-up and drop off point will be arranged.
7. What if it doesn’t work out or there are behavior problems?
We first try to solve any problems by talking about it and explaining cultural and linguistic differences with both the student and the family. If problems persist, we change the student to another family. We are available 24-7 during the stay.
8. Are there any classes or student excursions?
No, we believe in total immersion for the month.
9. When do I need to commit by?
There is no deadline, though the earlier you commit, the more likely you are to get a student.
